SMU Opens Doors to New Paramedical Talent

Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) has announced the opening of recruitment for several paramedical roles, including the position of Blood Bank Technician at the Central Referral Hospital (CRH). Established on November 15, 1992, Sikkim Manipal University was conceived through a partnership between the Government of Sikkim and the Manipal Pai Foundation, making it a pioneering Public Private Partnership in the realm of higher education and health care services across India. With two campuses dedicated to medical and technological education, SMU has been instrumental in providing outstanding education and medical services within Sikkim as well as nationwide.

Since its inception, SMU has received recognition from the University Grants Commission as per Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, confirmed by letter No F. 9-7/96(CPP-I) on December 9, 1998. Furthermore, the Government of India has granted its approval to SMU. The courses offered by the university enjoy the endorsement of prestigious regulatory bodies including the Medical Council of India (MCI), Nursing Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapy, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Distance Education Council.

Underlining its commitment to society, SMU provides free treatment services to families living below the poverty line (BPL) and offers subsidized medical care to other state residents. This is facilitated by an annual grant of Rs. 2.25 Crores from the Government of Sikkim to CRH. The university became officially recognized through the Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences Act (Act No. 9 of 1995).
